Ryan and Ally Carter

RYAN'S WORLD

My name is Ryan Carter and I am 5 years old.

I live in North Carolina and I love exploring the  outdoors, finding new animal species, swimming, biking, climbing, and lots more.

I have lizards in my backyard that come up on my porch.  They are not as big as this iguana, but someday I hope to have one as a pet.

Ryan's Update...October 26, 2008

Boomer our class pet just spent the weekend with me.  As part of his visit I did a report on the fun we had during the weekend. Here is the report.

Ryan's Update...October 25, 2008

I am currently playing on the "Dynamo" soccer team and we are doing very well this season. Today, it has been raining so I don't think we will have a game today. This season we have goalies and I love playing that position. This weekend I have "Boomer" the class pet home with me and I will put a picture of me and Boomer up on the website when I get a chance. This morning my dad and I put a model airplane together that we flew around the house.  School is going very well right now I love my class and my teacher Mrs. Byers.  I really love recess, music class, and field trips. Spanish class is hard but I am learning a bunch of Spanish songs.  My Daddy and Mommy built a really cool tree house for me in the backyard so all of my neighborhood friends and I spend a lot of time playing in my backyard. We eat popcorn balls and drink lemonaide in the tree house all the time.  I can't wait until my Grandpa Bob comes and we can add the swing set to my tree house. Daddy and I are going to the show "Walking with Dinosaurs" tomorrow and I am really excited about it.  I will let you know how the show turns out.I really love my life and I will see you later.

Push the button in my hand and I will teletransport to Mars

Pictures from My Gymnastics Competition

Here are some pictures from my recent gymnastics competition.  I did really well and received a medal.  I can't wait until this fall when I can start gymnastics again and soccer.

Miss Jennifer is helping me with my ring dismount.  I have gotten much better over the course of the year.

I go to Rose's Gymnastics and I would recommend it to anyone who likes flips, tumbling, and jumping.

Pictures of My Picnic and Me on Dad's Motorcycle

One day I decided to have a picnic in the yard with my Grandmommy, Mommy, and baby sister Ally.  We ate watermelon and drank lemonaide and had a lot of fun.

Creative Shower

Mommy said I had to hose off before coming inside so I thought I would multi-task and take a shower while my Daddy was watering the yard.

Which one of these snakes is poisonous?

Is it this one?

This one is poisonous.  It is the Coral Snake (Micrurus fulvius) and can hurt you if it bites you.

The rhyme that can save your life is "Red on Yellow can Hurt a Fellow...Red on Black Venom Lack."

Which one of these snakes is poisonous?

Or this one?

My daddy taught me a rhyme to help me identify which ones I can pet and which ones I should stay away from.

Check back later for the answer and the cool rhyme.

Other Things I like

I love riding my new bicycle.  It is a "Mongoose BMX Racer" and man does it fly.  As of 3 weeks ago I can ride it without training wheels.  Pretty Cool...Next I am learning how to jump a curb and then it is off to BIG Ramps...My dad wants me to hold off on the ramps until he gets better health insurance for me...I wonder what that means?

Other Things I like

I also love riding my scooter. I am able to do tricks that seem to scare and amaze my mom and dad.  I have to wear helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads when riding because otherwise I get cuts on my knees and elbows.  The last one I got my dad called a "Strawberry" and man did it hurt.  Not sure why he called it a strawberry because they don't hurt when you eat them and they kind of taste good.  Oh well...

This is What I REALLY Want

I saw this on the internet and man do I really want one of these.  Mom and dad say "No Way" but I just need a little more time to work on them.  How fast do you think one of these things can go?  I am already working on my parachute just in case it goes too fast or I reach critical velocity and go airborne.  Way Cool...

Summer is Coming Up

so I can't wait to break out my cranes and bulldozers for the sandbox and backyard.  I love to build mounds of dirt and sticks and then smash them flat with the bulldozer.  I am also going to be spending a lot of time at the pool. It has the coolest slide in the entire town.  I couldn't go down it until last year but man was it worth the wait. My dad loves the slide as well but he cringes when I yell from the top "Hey Dad...Watch This..."

Here are a Few Pictures from My Birthday Party

The birthday party was a blast.  My mom and dad rented out my gymnastics classroom and I was able to invite a bunch of my friends for a lot of fun.

We ate pizza, birthday cake, and ice cream.  My tummy was sore for a couple hours afterwards.

I got tons of cool presents and my Grandma Karrie and Aunt Abby flew into town for the party.  My great aunt Sharon and great uncle Jim drove down from Baltimore for the party as well.  I also had one of my best friends Olivia and her mom fly in for the party.  It was a total surprise.

These are Pictures of My Last Day at St. Timothy's Preschool

This is my teacher "Miss Melanie."  She is my favorite teacher.  She reminds me a lot of "Miss Frizzle" on the Magic School Bus.  She loves bugs, snakes, lizards, and fish.  She taught me everything I know about reptiles and insects. I am very sad to leave her and St. Timothy's Preschool.  I only hope my next teachers are as nice as her.  I miss you already "Miss Melanie!"

Photographs of My Cool Room

Mommy is helping me with my new laptop computer that Daddy bought me.  He got tired of me always wanting to play my games on his computer.  There are some really cool websites for kids with tons of games.  I will try to include some of my favorites in my next post.  The National Geographic magazines below the computer are my favorite reference when I discover new species of animals and plants in my backyard.
